Playworker
Overview
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Play Workers to join our team, providing a safe and engaging environment for children to learn and play. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting. As a Play Worker, you will play a vital role in fostering children's development through creative play and structured activities and supporting staff during our wrap around care provision ( breakfast and/ or after school clubs).
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, social, and emotional development.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to create a supportive community.
- Manage behaviour by setting clear boundaries and encouraging positive interactions among children.
- Maintain a clean and organised play environment, ensuring all equipment is safe and suitable for use.
- Assist in the preparation of snacks and meals as required, adhering to dietary needs.
- Support the development of children's independence through guided play experiences.
- Document children's progress and share observations with parents or guardians as necessary.
Requirements
- A qualification in Early Childhood Education or related field is required
- Previous experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is essential.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively with children of various ages.
- A genuine passion for childcare and the ability to inspire creativity through play.
- Proficiency in English is required; additional languages are an advantage.
- A valid driver's licence may be beneficial for transporting children if required by the role.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.
