Fence Club 43 is the leading provider of fencing classes for primary schools across London and the South-East. Since our inception in 2021, we have grown rapidly, teaching over 1,250 students per week. Our mission is to enhance students' physical fitness, discipline, and mental focus through high-quality, engaging fencing programs.
Role Overview
**No fencing experience is required**
The Head of Coaching will be responsible for visiting our after school fencing classes (typically 1 hour in length) to observe and provide feedback to our coaches on their teaching techniques. This role is crucial in ensuring the highest standards of coaching and student engagement. The Head of Coaching will report back to the head office team with detailed reports on coaches' progress and class effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Visit various primary schools to oversee our before and after school fencing classes, ensuring classes are engaging, safe and effective.
- Provide constructive feedback to coaches on their teaching techniques and class management.
- Report back to the head office with evaluations and progress reports on each coach.
- Identify areas for improvement and suggest strategies to enhance coaching quality.
- When needed managing, assembling and maintaining equipment at schools.
- Covering classes of other coaches when needed.
Requirements
- An experienced professional with over 3 years experience working with children in a coaching setting.
- Proven skills in behavior management and coaching primary school-age children.
- Able to identify improvements in other coach's lessons and explain them constructively with clear action steps.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with teachers, students, coaches and head office.
- Very reliable and punctual and able to travel to various school locations.
- Passionate about promoting physical fitness and the benefits of fencing/sports education.
